how do I play my Ipod through my amplifier?

Q: I have an Ibanez IBZ10G amplifier and i need to know what cable or cord i need to plug my ipod into it and play it through. The jacks on the amp read "Phones" and "CD IN." both of them are kind of wide holes.

You need to get an adaptor from eighth inch to quarter inch, but if it is not a stereo amp you'll likely get only one channel

How can I play my Ipod through my guitar amplifier ? I know it can be done, I've seen the little cables that plug through the amplifier into the ipod, I just have no idea what their called.

A: Get one of these (a 1/4" jack to 3.5mm jack reducer) http://www.installergadget.com/catalog/251-155.jpg
Then connect it into the headphone input of your ipod and insert a 1/4" jack plug (guitar cable) from it to the amp!
Watch the volumes or you might blow a speaker!

I use a 100 watt Spider Line 6 guitar amp. I'm wondering what sort of cable it'll take to plug my Ipod Touch into the amp so I can blast it.

I'm not interested in portable amplifier options. I want to use this at home.
Important: What about the iPod Shuffle? Is it completely stand-alone, unlike the other iPods? How can I hook it into a sophisticated sound system?


A: You need a standard mini to audio cable. If you have a home theater like mine, just hook the red and white ends into the back of your amp, and hook the mini-jack side into the headphone jack of your ipod. Make sure you turn the volume all the way up on the ipod due to its low power output. Sounds pretty good in my house, make sure you get a "Monster Cable" approx: 30$.. Rock on!!
