Looking to buy the Denon AVR 2807 in a stereo mode for now and then expand to 7.1 later. How do they match with a pair of Boston Acoustics VR2 speakers? Does anyone think I can do better on the receiver and the speakers, at similar price points?

A: I bought the Denon 2807 back in January and looked at a few speaker packages as well. I listened to the BA VR2's, the B&W 602 series and the Definitive Technology Mythos line and wasn't really impressed by the Boston Acoustics at all. They just didn't have the dynamic range of the other 2 speakers I auditioned. The B&W and Definitive Tech's were better and I ended up with the Def Tech's b/c they were a better bargain and looked cooler too! :)

So I went to listen to a few different types of speakers. What would you guys recommend between Boston Acoustics, BIC acoustech, and Klipsch? I liked what I heard with the Boston speakers, with a nice balanced sound. The thing with the Klipsch synergy F-3's is that it seemed the highs were almost a little too bright and I heard that Acoustech are similar to Klipsch. Am I wrong? What speakers would you recommend for overall sound quality, with good highs, mids and lows? Boston...

A: I would also suggest Paradigm Monitor series. I still own a pair of 1988 Paradigm 9SE that lasted 5 years of college and a took beating to The Pixies, Ministry and The Clash.

Boston Acoustics has kind of lost their way audio wise, they were great back in the 80's and early 90's. I am sure they still make a good product and it might be just marketing.

Klipsch is a quality product, but a unique sound that does not appeal to everyone. Bic is not a brand...

I need to find one on ebay but I don't know about specifics. Power, range,blah, blah, but don't wanna pay more than $10 if possible. I've looked on ebay before, that is why I want to spend about that amount.
