What is a good CD/mp3 player for my car with recently installed subwoofers?

Q: I had 2 12" Image Dynamics subwoofers and a Massive amplifier installed in my car and I want to know which brand of CD/mp3 player (deck) would be best for my car.

mate id go for a pioneer headunit. why? because the sound quality they give r outstanding, fully loaded with options like preset eq and manual eq, loud, sub and invert sub, upto 3 preouts for 3 amps, even control eq per amp- front, mid & sub..... just trust me ..... how much do u wanna spend, ill look one up 4 ya

Whatever you'd like.
You will need something with an amp RCA output.
If your only running one amp, which im assuming, just find a regular deck with one RCA output.
Also, an Equalizer is nice to have.
I know Alpine decks usually have nice features, but anything with an RCA output will work.

how do i clean the contacts on my car cd/mp3 player?

I am pretty sure the contacts (the little metal pieces where the faceplate in to the rest of the cd-player [that is in the dashboard] when it is detatched) are dirty.

Here are the symptoms:
From time to time when i put my faceplate on (i take it off a lot for fear of theft) it will turn on but the display screen is blank and no buttons work. It will play music, but nothing on the display appears.

also, when it is working fine, the display will suddenly...

anybody know if buick ever put a cd mp3 player in any of their cars? and would the deck interchange with my 98

I have a 1998 Buick Park Avenue Ultra, and I am quite impressed with the factory sound system (concert sound III), but I am desperately missing my cd mp3 player. I would like to get a deck that would directly interchange with the factory deck, so did Buick put a cd mp3 player in a newer model, and if so, will it work with my factory wiring harness and built in amp?


A: Starting about 2002, GM started linking their radios to the car computer. You can make a 1998 radio work in a new car, but you can't make the newer radios work in your car.

You could go with an aftermarket radio, add an adaptor to play an iPod.

How can I choose a good in-dash CD/mp3 player?

I want to replace my current CD player with a receiver with mp3 capability. What specs should I look for to know what kind of quality I'm getting? How much should I expect to pay for a good one? Any suggestions on brands? Any other tips?
