Will an amp allow me to run 4 infinity kappa2ohm speakers of a clarion cd player witch runs at 4 ohms?

wanted to run 4 kappa infinity 60.7cs which run at 2 ohm off my clarion dxz776usb which runs at 4 ohms but i've herd it will destroy my clarion. Will running an amp of my deck let me run these speakers? thinking of getting a Alpine mrp-450 4 channel amp 4x400rms which can run 100 watts x4 at 2ohm or 70 watts x4 at 4 ohm

A: Yes, just get a 2-Ohm stable 4-channel amplifier.

AAHHH NO!

If you add two 2ohm speakers in parallel it will bring the load down to 1/2ohm.

Run them in Series and you will be fine. ALL 4

- to+ = series

+ to + = Parallel

Keep an eye on the temp of the amp and I would HIGHLY reccoment (2) 1 farrad stiffening caps to keep the pace.

CLarion Speakers says 8w? and 25W peak?

Ok so my rear speakers in my car are clarion 6 1/2 inches but they say the nominal is 8w and the peak is 25w?? does this mean 80 and 250 or what.....my pioneer deck is 50w nominal and 240w peak...can i leave these in without worrying about turning the volume up to high? my front speakers are going to need to be replaced cuz i cant go very loud on most songs cuz the bass cracks the sound.....but if the back ones can handle it then ill leave them in.....so if somebody could clear this up that...


A: It means 8 watts and 25 watts peak. Your pioneer deck is 50 x 4 so it is more like 13 watts per channel RMS. The rear speakers should be fine. If you are getting new ones for the front, you could fade it up front a little so the rear don't distort.

How is Clarion car audio and speakers in comparision to Apline & Pioneer, i got a lot of data about this brand but do not know the performance i.e. sound output, clarity etc. Please provide me the information if someone has used this brand, model number DXZ585USB


A: Clarion is a respectable company as far as products and performance. All Clarion car audio head units are pretty nice in comparison to Alpine and Pioneer. Technologically, they fair pretty well against these two companies and (automotive insider note) All Bose stereo head units equipped in all Nissan products (since 1992) are Clarion head units, licensed for Bose to use in their system designs.
You don't get to her that from Pioneer or Alpine often. :)
