What kind of wires do i use to light the illuminite dual speakers?

Q: I just bought the illuminite dual audio speakers and i dont know what wiring i need to get the lights on the speakers to work. It takes a 12v source to power. And how do i wire it to the fuse box?
im just confused on installing the lights. it would be awesome if someone could show me some pictures of the installation for these speakers.

A: i just wired the lights to the speaker wire coming from my headunit and it beats to the music. I no it says not to do this but it is safe. I have had it this way for a year now and no problems. good luck

speaker wire which should run about 14 guage. Positive and negative hook up to the source of the connection to the amplifier if you have one. Ground and turn on lead I believe and it will stay on. Not sure how to wire it to a fuse box.

you can use any kind of wire as small as 18 gauge as the leds dont use much power at all. you want to ground the black wire to the frame or other ground wire and you want to switch the red wire so the lights dont stay on. best way would be to find power source that is Ignition controlled so the lights go on with the car and off with the car. There should be one behind the radio, usually red or yellow wire. if not, find any hot wire and run it to a switch and run the wire from the...

A: you had given very limited information!
is there any interface provide ?
are they special speakers?
model no. of the stuff you want to hook?

led's just cannot be hooked with speaker connections and expected to glow with music.

there are interface provided with special lights eg - street glow neons.
don't hook up led's just light just like that or you'll damage your amplifier source.

What exactly does that mean? Where should I hook the it to then? Its a speaker by the way so where is the closest 12 volt source?


A: if you want it to be reliable "geek bling"...hook it to the main power lead for your head unit....with a fusable link.....and a switch...TRUST ME, YOU DON'T ALWAYS WANT THAT CRAP FLASHING WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING......

I'm looking to upgrade my stereo system with a new pair of 3-way speakers, everything I see seems to use a dual woofer configuration. My current speakers use a single 12 inch woofer with two horns, one for the midrange, and one for the high end. my main concern is not going "Backwards" in relationship to what I already have, "Rock" solid bass.


A: they are using 2 smaller speakers vs one larger because they are faster , quicker (sound - cleaner) more acurate .
