Need ides to power up my 2 headrest monitors and a video amp?

Q: i want to power up 2 monitors and a video amplifire in my car and how should i do it? bring power from the cig lither socket or can i power them up directly hooking a wire to the ACC wire on the headunit? and do i have to get a power distributer if so what kind and or can i make one

Why do you need a video amplifier? Those are used on long runs over video cable.

If they are 12 volt (and due to power requirements), it's best to run them from a relay that's controlled by the ACC wire. You'll need a 10 AWG fused wire to each device.

If they run from house current, get an inverter that can handle the total wattage of all devices. An inverter converts 12 volts DC to 120 volts AC.

Is it possible to connect you ipod video in ur car and have the videos play on your headrest monitors?

let me know if there's special moitors i need to get, seems like if you find monitors to play quicktime videos it should be able to work.


A: If a company out there sells a A/V cable to connect to your iPod Video to another A/V input then yes. But if that cable doesnt exsist which I have no idea for a iPod. For creative Yes, for iPod not sure. And you wouldnt have to worry about the format of the video file your tryin to play on a monitor. Its playing from your iPod, and simply just displaying them images on the screen.

Night car vlog setup

I have two provision 7" monitors and the cables that came with them have an s-video that hooks up to the monitors plug, a power wire (red), a ground wire (black) and a yellow female connection. I dont know how the sound is going to come out of this if there are no rca's how will i listen to the volume?


A: Are you talking about LCD video monitors to fit on the back of a car headrest?

If so, I believe it's normal to have either a headphone plug (no built in speakers) on the monitor or the sound would come from the DVD/radio speakers in the car. For the headphone plug to work one of the wires should be to carry the sound from the DVD player/amp.

I'd suggest getting the manual for the monitors and/or taking them to an auto radio installer to do the work. You...

A: Yep, go get a couple RCA Y adapter cable splitters, most likely some that have 1 male, 2 female connectors, connect them to your touch screen outputs, and then connect your RCA wires in them, and then run them to your screens!
