Can't figure out how to make kicker amplifier work?

Q: I just bought new kicker zx750.1 amplifier with two 12'' mtx jackhammers (1600w). I plugged everything in and the amplifier immediately showed red light. when plugging it in i did not un-connect the battery. (I've hooked up a few kicker amps the same way). Was wondering if there is anyway to solve this problem, what the problem is, or what i should go about doing now...

I would say that the first place to start would be the ground. Make sure that you have a good ground an that the cable is not anymore than two or three feet long(the shorter the better.) Also the gage of the ground is important sounds like you have a lot of power so you are going to want to go with a pretty large Gage wire.

well its in protection mode, so what i would do is unplug rca and speaker wire. turn on the car and see if that red light is still there, if it is than check you fuse on the amp and under the hood, if both good than your amp is bad. if you take out the rca and speaker wire and you turn on the car and it shows green than plug in the rca if the rca pops on the red light than you got a problem with your rca if not than plug in your subs, now if the subs pop on the red light than you got a...

if I add a 650 watt kicker amplifier to the 4 speakers will that blow the speakers completely ..


A: Why would it? You're adding a 4 channel amp that will clean up the sound and filter out bass anyway. So no. Don't worry about the wattage on the amp, just turn your gain levels down a little and adjust your high pass filter on the amp to around 100-125 Hz to limit the amount of bass to the speakers and you should be okay. Just double check though, sometimes the tweeters and woofers in the doors run separately to a amplifier in the factory, and if they aren't actively crossed over...

Kicker 08ZX4001 400-Watt Class D Mono Subwoofer Amplifier

I have a ZX1000 Kicker amplifier and I want to know what would be better to put to that amp? 2 12 inch P3s or 2 15 inch kicker CVRs? Both handle same wattage but what would be better?

Kicker 600.1

It is a single 10" kicker cvr sub and zx300.1 mono channel amplifier. I want to know if I need a 2 channel line out put converter or 4 channel or if it even matters...also what brand do you recommend. I do NOT have the monsoon sound system if that matters either.


A: It really depends on your budget. Also, it really doesn't matter if you get a 2, 4, or 6 channel LOC. If all you want is subs, a 2 channel will work. But, if the one you get has more, you can just not use the other channels.
