If I add 4 DS693 Kicker Speakers would i need to get a amp?

Q: Its a Chrysler Sebring 2004. I already have a pair of KS20 Tweeters and I want to add another pair plus the 4 speakers. Thats it. would I need to add a Amp for them or is it just fine. I dont care for Bass but if i have to buy a amp for them might as well buy some kicker bass. As you guess iam new to this whole car audio details. Thanks.
P.S. The 4 speakers are 6x9.

I would recommend a good amplifier. It is as important, if not more important, than the speakers themselves.

ur best bet is to amp them. however i have the ds speakers and i didnt amp them and they still sound really good. but if u amp them they will be louder and sound better.

My opinion, see for yourself.
Put in the speakers, crank it and listen. If it's not how much you want, you'll need to upgrade to a decent 4ch. amp (about 75 - 100wrms would be fine). If so, leave it be.
Car audio is, IMO, intirely based on personal opinion.

Can you build you own computer speakers with car speaker like pioneer kicker ect?

i am trying to build a mini music system for my computer bcause i hate the already made computer speakers i want to use pioneer or kicker speakers but don't know if it will work


A: Or...... you could just run a patch cable to your stereo/home theatre system and play through that.

Audio output from your 'puter is relatively low power, so you would need some form of amplification to drive automotive speakers.

Assuming your goal is playing music, all you need is a patch cable with a miniplug on one end, and two RCA plugs on the other. Put the miniplug in your computer, RCA plugs to tape or CD input on your amplifier, and you're...

What watt amp would be good for my Kicker speakers? (see below)?

I have to of the square Kicker speakers. They each have 1200 watts peak....600 watts continuous. What wattage/ohm combination amp should i get to push them best?


A: i have 2 12" pioneer 800 watt max and 400 continuous...and a 1600 watt amp hooked up to them. i would suggest hooking a 1200 watt amp to it, the higher the power the better the performance

kicker component speakers Vs Alpine component speakers which one is best among them?

I have bought Alpine CDA-9887 head unit,which component speakers shall i go for is it alpine or kicker which one is better among them .I want to fix two speakers in front and two speakers back .and iam enable to decide amplifier can anybody help me out


A: alpine is definately one of the best speakers out there. I have type r components right now and ive never heard a better set of speakers. Kicker is a good line, but their speakers just arent up to par with their subwoofers and amps. If you go with the type r speakers, any 4 channel amp that gives 80rms@4 ohms will make the speakers sound great. If u have everything else alpine u might as well check out the m series amps, or really step up to the pdx 4.100, which might be the best 4...
