What are my options on wiring a subwoofer thats 1.2ohm DVC (Dual Voice Coil)? Its a Lanzar OPTI1533D?

Q: Im thinking about getting either the subwoofer that was named in the subject line which is the Lanzar OPTI1533D rated at 3000watts RMS and 6000watts peak. I own a amp that is rated at 3200watts RMS at 1 Ohm and 5500 max. Thing is the Lanzar subwoofer it 1.2ohm DVC so im thinking can I wire it straight 1.2 to one channel and is that just connecting one voice coil?? Is that bad? How else could I wire it? Also, im considering the MA Audio EHO152. Its rated at 2500 RMS and 5000 Peak and its 2 Ohm...

A: If I had to guess I would say 800 watts is what lanzar claims. However, this subwoofer will sound like garbage and if you have not bought or can return it I would.

i am looking into buying 2 of the 15's and im wondering if there worth it or will they be like lightning audio and blow up


A: waste of cash
(its not a good sign when they don't give you the specs and i looked for about 10min. and could find no specs anywhere online (if you sent 500 "real" watts to that sub it would be toast quickly)

I was looking for a decent amp thats not going to cost a ton. I have one 15 to put in the single cab of a truck just for some decent listening.


A: Okay so the important specs are:
- RMS Power Range : 600 Watts
- Peak Power Handling: 1200 Watts
- Impedance: Dual 4 Ohm

I would suggest a strong mono amplifer with around 400-600w RMS x 1 channel. Many people tell me that buying a matching amplifer (i.e. the same brand) for the sub is the most optimum, but others will disagree.

Therefore I will give you 2 (of many) options:
- Lanzar OPTI1400D (500w RMS x 1)
- Alpine...
