93 subaru legacy installed kenwood speakers and alpine stereo--no power to anything-can't even start the car ?

Q: had power for about a minute then nothing. replaces battery and visually checked all fuses. disconnected new stereo and still no power. is there some kind of reset switch or relay?

A: If you have power to nothing, then likely you have blown a main fuse, these are going to be located under the hood, not in the passenger compartment. Also I remember subaru being fans of using fusible links, which look just like pieces of wire, which would have to be cut out and new link spliced in.

Speakers size for a 1998 subaru Legacy GT?

My girlfriend has a 1998 Subaru Legacy GT. The speakers on her car are really bad so for this Christmas I want to buy her new speakers and install them for her. She is out of town so there is no way for me to check for the size of the speakers in her car and I don't want to ask her because in that way she will know what I'll get her for Christmas. I need some help

How do you get to or take out the door speakers in a 96 subaru legacy?


A: Remove the cap on the door pull. Take out that phillips screw. Pop the cap off the screw in the door latch lever area. Remove that screw. Slide the trim ring around the door latch lever to the left and remove. Pull hard on the panel from the bottom first. It should snap off. After the snaps are dislodged...pull up on the panel and remove.

i know nothing about speakers. i want to get new speakers for my 2005 subaru legacy.
i want them to be reallyyyy loud for a good deal but i dont know what makes them loud or what makes them good quality and i dont know which ones would fit my car


A: For front speakers, get components with a high sensitivity rating and give them the wattage they call for.

For subs..
The box is most of what makes it loud. You will need a ported box if you want it loud. I would recommend 2 12" subs in the largest ported box you can fit in your car.
Brand is not that important, as long as it is a reputable brand that has been around for awhile. And you don't need 8,000 watt subs to be loud, you need a good box, and a...
