MTX Amplifier
Q: Alright, so I have 2 MTX 3401 amplifiers hooked up to a Stinger capacitor, running 2 MTX 7500 subwoofers independently. I have a professional bi-amplifier wiring kit installed correctly, including proper ground and positive splits, and a voltage read out. The problem is sometimes one of the amplifiers drops out after working only a little bit, even if I just started the car. It recently started to do this when it got cold out, so I dont know if that has anything to do with it. The amplifier...
A: your gain (input sensitivity setting) is too high, its used to maximize clean signal strength from your amp, not volume or power
Set the input sensitivity controls of your amplifier to their minimum level (counter clockwise).
Put in a CD and turn the receiver's volume control up (you might have to raise the amp's gain just a bit to hear the music).
When you hear distortion, stop. Turn the volume down until it disappears. As much signal as possible is passing from...

My Mtx amp did something like that;
It was the speaker's pole moving inside the voice coil (shorting out just a little). The amp was protecting itself.
All I had to do was turn off the stereo for a minute and it would start working again, If I hit a bump in the road or played it loud it would shut off again.
try switching your speaker wires from one amp to the other see if the same thing happens to the other amp.Or if you don't risk hurting your other amp take the...
