Q: I currently have a MMATS amp that is 1200 watts and stable at 1 ohm (there are other versions that are stable at 2 ohms, and another at .67) . If i am looking to get the IDMax DVC 2 ohm 12" sub. If it is a 2ohm sub , cant i hook it up to both voice coils and make it a one ohm sub, which would work perfectly for my setup?

A: If the amp is 1200rms @ 1ohms, I don't see a problem. Wire the sub in parallel and it will present a 1 ohm load to the amp.
Being 200 over is better than 200 under as that will insure that there's no clipping before the sub runs out of excursion. Just don't push it too hard and exceed it's thermal limits too long. Also the box you use will have to be setup to make the handle the power so don't go too big on that either.

yea just make sure the speaker can handle the power of the amp cuz u didnt list wat was the power handling of the amp
