is polk audio home speakers the best?

Q: does polk audio speakers for home theatre is a right fit?
Will onkyo tx sr 805 with polk audio RM 6880 speaker system will make a decent home theatre set up?

A: Polk are decent speakers and will work well for home theater.

But there are HUNDREDS of other brands out there. Some are a lot more accurate & detailed. But you are pushing $2,000 per speaker to get the increased accuracy.

Also - newbies often post:

"For $500 - which of these 3 speakers are the best?"

and a fight ensues with no truthful answer.

I'm looking at buying some speakers and started looking at polk and wanted to know what people thought about polk. P.S: Looking for door speakers. If you recommend any other brands tell me.


A: Polk are real good speakers. But you need to go listen for your self Everybody hear differently or desire different things in Loud Speaker Systems. Just know what kind of sound you want and how much power will you need.

are polk speakers any good? has anyone experence them? i just bought the Polk Audio OWM3


A: I have good experience with Polk's speakers. Actually I'm using RTi10, CSi5 with Monitor60 as my HT setup. Can't complain at the sound after I have calibrating them to death. So good luck with your purchase...try it out and find out.

What is a better brand of speakers overall, Polk Audio or Alpine?

I would be installing
2 6x9's in the rear deck and 2 6.5" in the front doors powered by a 4x75 amplifier at 4 ohm.

I am looking for excellent sound quality but I would still enjoy to turn it up to high levels with no distortion with out loosing all of my bass.

It would be vs. Alpine Type-R and Polk Audio MOMO Series.
