Could the Pyle Dryver 3200 watt subwoofer be used as a free air subwoofer?

Q: Iam planning to buy a Pyle Dryver 3200 watt subwoofer, but seeing as i have a civic hatch with 2 subs already, i can only mount it free air in the middle of my speaker deck. How effective would this subwoofer be if used like a free air subwoofer?

in my opinion, it would be a waste of time and money because using a sub in free air will use alot of power with a very limited output. Then again, im no installer but i have done alot of research on the topic. i also havent been a fan of pyle since a head unit of theres crapped out on me soon after i bought it, hope i helped

i am about to get six 15" pyle blue wave subwoofers, and they say that are 1500watts a peace, but i know thats the peak, becasue i used to have 2 of them and i hooked a 1200 watt rockford amp to them, and it blew them...so what is about the minimum wattage of each sub?


A: lol DO NOT LISTEN TO THE PEAK POWER.

it says they handle 200rms, which is really 400peak (not 1500), and thats if theyre not about the rms.

i wouldnt give each one more than 100rms....

A: You did not specify whether you want a ported or sealed enclosure.

Accordin to the PYLE site, this woofer has the following specs:

4ohm
vas = 2.73cf
fS = 25hz
Qms=2.68
Qes=0.90
Qts=0.68
Spl=92
VC = 2.0"KSV

Based on that, using the unified box model, for a sealed enclosure with an F3 of 62Hz, your box would be 0.195 internal CF

watts bandpass system. nand my amplifier is V12 3000 watts. it is ok to put all the speaker n subwoofer in amplifier.
