Q: is this amp 3500 watts RMS and its peak is 7000 watts?

A: MAX is really not a viable use of a measurement as an amp rarely ever reaches MAX. When it does, it's only for a bout 1/10 of a second.

Always match up total watts RMS of your subs to the watts RMS of the at the correct impedance (ohms).

yes, at 1 ohms

2 ohms RMS would be 2500
4 ohms RMS would be 1800

Peak is 7000 watts, but it is a non-factor

Yes the max is 7000 Watts.

A: you cannot get just any amp for this beauty it has to be the same brand. if you go with something else it's like tring to put a vw motor in a lambergini.it just wont work. here this one is made for this big daddy sub.

Soundstream amplifiers?

Which soundstream amp series would be best at producing the watts stated?I've heard that some are really good but some are really lame like the xstream series but i'm not sure about the rest.Thanks.


A: Soundstream is oldschool and has proven itself. the picasso series is really good and i used to have one. i had the pcx2000d and it was monstrous. at two ohms it was rated 1500 watts rms and it banged.

Is there a rule for matching amplifier RMS power to speaker RMS power?

I am looking at a Kicker Solo-baric L7 at 750 watts RMS at 89.4db (in a factory box) with plans to power it with a SoundStream Tarantula Class Do mono amp at 2ohms, at 520 watts RMS. The steero shop people said no issues.
