I know that Karaoke equipment can read audio CD's (.cda format), as well as Karaoke CD's (CD+G format).

I want to know if there are Karaoke machines that are capable of reading a standard audio CD, and determine which digital track(s) the vocals reside on and to be able to NOT play those specific tracks.

I therefore would like to play a standard audio CD, and be able to play it purely as an instrumental.

Please provide some reccomendations...

A: No, you cannot do that with a Karaoke machine. Infact, it is VERY difficult to remove a vocal track from a CD completely. It depends on how the individual song was recorded. Also, it may be recorded on the same track as another instrument OR have experienced what those in the recording industry call "bleed through".
