Q: Taiyo Yuden blank media seems to be the best,I have only found
DVD+R.
Has anyone found +RW from this company?
What do you concider the "best" RW DVD media?

A: According to the manufacturer's web site, they don't make any RW media.

I havent heard of that brand, but dont use RW as they cost more and take more time to use than a USB flashdrive, when i get the flashdrive full i burn a copy on CD

Vista treats DVD or CD with data as blank discs & wants to format media for burning, what to do to prevent it?

Hi, I've seen this happen on a few computers and not just my own but, I'll put in a disc and try to run a file that's on the disc when a pop-up window appears asking me how do I want to format the blank disc?

Is there a setting or something to prevent windows from trying to take discs with data and use them as blank media?


A: I wouldn't worry about it, it happens with me a lot. I don't know an exact solution, but whatever you do, DON'T try and format the disc as it says, just simply eject the disc and re-insert it, and it should be recognized as a disc with data on it.

Is there a good website to buy blank media (Hi8 MP 8mm) in bulk?

I'm working on a video diary style documentary, using a Sony Handycam TRV128 and will need a lot of blank media (Hi8 MP 8mm video cassettes). Is there a place where I can buy these in bulk? The cheapest I've found is a 4-pack for $14.99.

How do I stop windows media player from opening when I insert a blank cd?

On the Streets

My son was going to burn a cd and when the window popped up to choose what you wanted to do, he clicked on burn a cd using windows media player. That was fine but the box was checked to always use this program on files of this type. Now every time that I insert a blank cd windows media player comes up set to burn a cd.
How do I un-check the box to stop this. My OS is XP pro


A: Right click the drive in My Computer and choose Autoplay. If the restore defaults tab is available, click on it and next time you insert a blank disk it will ask what you want to do. If it is not available click on choose an option to perform and it should then be available.
