What cleaners do you use while pregnant to clean your home?

Q: I have been very scared to use any cleaners so I have been useing soap and water. I really want to scrub everything as I am a neat freak! What cleaners are safe to use around the house, like the bathtub, toilet and sick?
My husband bought the Green works product..I was just a little scared to use it..Thanks I will try it out!

A: Any "Green Works" product...you can find these in Walmart or any grocery store in your area.

I don't tolerate the bad fumes on some of these well known cleaning products. So I was happy to see that they finaly came out with this new Product that won't be so dangerous to you and your soon to be newborn.

I used all my regular cleaners when I was pregnant. Just make sure you wear rubber gloves and if the cleaner has a strong scent, open the windows.

When I was pregnant, I went to a natural grocery store and bought some cleaners. They don't have harsh ingredients that are bad for you and the environment. There is a new "green" cleaner that is made by Clorox or some other regular brand and that is now available at Target, Kmart or Walmart. I was also told that vinegar and water work good too.

To help do my part in helping to save the Earth by reducing the amount of hazardous pollutants I personally use and/or produce, I was wondering if there was a place online that sells natural household cleaning products (dishwashing liquids, bathroom cleaners, floor cleaners, etc). If you know of any books that have recipes for making your own natural cleaners or you have any tips on making cleaners it would be greatly appreciated.

So I'm tired of messing around with sub-par household cleaners, I'd like to know if there are any absolutely fantastic ones out there. Ones that just blow all the others away. I'd be interested in hearing suggestions on ones from all different categories, such as......

A: Mr. Clean Magic Eraser - absolutely fantastic stuff. Even works on pen on the wall.
Anything with orange oil in it. Not only does it smell good, but it cuts through just every everything.
Oxi-clean is really great for laundry and washing anything white.

Do those vacumn cleaners you rent for a day really work well?

I have a few pet stains in my carpet and have scrubbed and scrubbed them by hand only to find a slight stain still set in and a musty smell to go along with it. Do those wet vacum cleaners you can rent for a day work well at getting the smell out of carpet? Thanks for all of your help.


A: I had the same issue and yes they do work.. HOWEVER, do some checking.. you can have a professional come in and do a better job.. Not to mention you dont have to go through the hassle involved in picking it up, preping, using, cleaning and returning. It is not that much difference in price! Check your area.
