What are the flashes of light on my pants?

Q: I got these awesome fleece pj pants for Christmas, but when I get into bed, they rub up against the flannel blankets and they make these flashes of light, not like sparks, just flashes of blue light? Anyone have any idea what they are???
Actually, I'm a brunette.

A: Static Electricity! Many materials build up electric potential when friction occurs between them. The bursts of light are merely the pockets of charge finding a conductor to free the charge. Pretty cool, huh?

I am 25 so it's obviously not that, but I wake up every night in the middle of the night with these horrible hot flashes and on top of that I have migranes(sp) from hell every night. I don't know what could be the cause of this.


A: I was having them too. I couldnt figure out why. My feet were on fire and so was the rest od my body. My doctor told me dehydration at night can cause these type of reaction.

Try drinking some gatorade before you go to sleep and keeping the bottle by the bed. It cant hurt to try

55 yrs old. Quit having periods 4 years ago, but the hot flashes and insomnia are still going on. Hot flashes extremely severe, especially at night. I've read reports that these types of symptoms should only last about a year. I have congestive heart failure, so I cannot use hormone replacement therapy. How much longer am I going to have to live with this?


A: Eat dark leafy vegetables (mustard greens) and drink a hot tea with honey before going to bed and see. Take natural thyroid products too!
