hard drive?

Q: I recently bought a casing for my laptop hard drive, so that I could transfer files from my laptop hard drive onto my PC because my laptop doesn't work anymore. When I plug the hard drive and casing into my PC, it connects, but I can't locate the new hard drive on my computer. Any ideas?

also, when I go to disk management, it doesn't show up.

and the hard drive is running, i can hear the disk spinning and the blue light is on, showing that the hard...

A: probably the reason behind this is your external hdd needs to be installed.. or probably your laptop motherboard doesnot support the extended hdd. check that... if things doesnot work out... then connect your laptop with your pc with a p2p lan cable configure the network and connect the hdd onto your pc... and transfer the files...

See if the hard drive is showing up in the BIOS it might be turned of there

Usually you hit f2 or delete button right at the beginning of start-up

A Tree and HDD

I want to upgade my hard drive to one of a larger capacity, but im unsure of which type to go for. Ideally, im looking for a good quality and reliable 500GB hard drive, and not an external one as those tend to fail. Also, is it possible to incorporate the new 500GB hard drive with my existing hard drive? Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Normally, the hard drive in our computers has more than one drives. We save all the program files in one drive such as drive c:/ and save other files like Word documents, photos, songs in another drive such as drive e:/. Is it necessary to divide external hard drive into different sections such as F:/, G:/, H:/?
And how to divide the external hard drive into several sections?


A: With External plugged in.....Right Click on My Computer icon....select Manage. Go to Disk Management...there you can create partitions (Logical Drives) in the sizes you specify. Keep in mind that you will have to delete any existing partition and data to make changes to it.

Project 365: Day 41 - iSpindle

I have a mac powerbook G4 and it has a 80 gb hard drive in it. I recently purchased a 500 GB hard drive and want to transfer all of my files and operating system to my 500gb hard drive. Is that possible, or do I need to just install the hard drive and partition it with a clean copy of Leopard? Any help would be great!
