I'm thinking about purchasing the Opteka .35x HD² Super Wide Angle Panoramic Macro Fisheye Lens, and wondering whether or not it would be compatible with my Canon EF 17-40mm wideangle lens.

If not, is there an adapter?

A: Yes if it is the same thread size. The 17-40mm has a 77mm filter thread size so if it is the same then yes it will fit. That said be aware that the optical quality of these add on lenses is very poor. If you want a fisheye for anything other than a cheap thing to play around with you should buy a real fisheye lens. I want to buy a 500mm lens and I found these both Opteka 500mm F/8.
One is a telephoto preset lens, and the other one is a telephoto mirror lens.
What is the difference and how good is Opteka?

A: A mirror lens uses, well, mirrors to extend the focal length. So instead of having 500mm (or half a meter!) distance between the front element and the focal plane, the mirrors bounce stuff around inside the lens housing. This is not necessarily a bad thing, as many huge telescopes use mirrors. However, these mirrors are hand-polished and cost millions -- a consumer grade mirror lens will almost always be softer than one with glass elements.

Opteka lenses are extremely cheap....

I just recently purchaced the opteka macro lens kit and i have a few questions (since there was no insructions). ..oh and by the way my camera is a Fuji s700 .

1. Do you use macro mode while using these lenses?
2. Can you "stack" the lenses to get a more close up shot? If so....does it matter what order you put the lenses on?

A: You have a digital camera, why not experiment to see what works best? You will find the quality will be degraded using these add-on cheap lenses. I would imagine stacking them will be out of the question if you want any quality at all in your image.
