I am installing a Dell blade chassis (M100E). It has six power supplies. Three attach to one PDU, and three attach to another PDU. Each PDU requires 30 amps (208V). I do not have a UPS with two 30A outlets, but I have two with one each. So can I drive the blade chassis with two separate UPS's?

A: Yes. In fact that's the recommended way so in a power failure if a UPS also fails you can keep the system running.

All our servers with redundant power supplies have the PS's plugged into different UPSs because of that.

I have a PC I'm trying to fix up. For a long time it has used a power supply that doesn't actually fit the case (the screw holes don't match up at all)... The power supply is ATX... I have no idea what brand of case I own... Does anyone know how I would go about identifying what types of power supplies are suitable for my PC case?

A: You shouldn't have any problems matching up with another atx supply. Just make sure the new supply has the connectors that you already have such as an sata connector if you have a sata drive

I'm planning to buy a new video card, but the 500w+ power supplies are way too expensive for me, can i buy another 300w power supply and use it only for the video card?

A: No this is not possible, there is only room in the case for one power supply. The power supply has to be connected to the motherboard as well, so unless you can find a motherboard with 2 main power connections, this is impossible.

what are all the parts of the computer you are building? If you just buy a single 500 watt power supply, that should be enough to power most computers unless it is really high end.
