My vivitar digital camera lens won't go back in or let me take pictures or come on. Any ideas?

Q: I have a vivitar 5 megapixel digital camera and I took the batteries out while it was on and now if I put the batteries back in and press the power button it just loads the vivitar start up screen and nothing else. The lens are stuck out and I think this is part of the problem.

A: go buy a new one

Structure - Shadows/Curves

Where can I find one? How much do they generally cost, and can I really find one? Also, Is a Vivitar series one lens also a "T" lens?

A: Nope, the vivitar series 1 for canon is an FD mount, and you aren't going to find an adapter to mount it to an XSI.

The Minolta is an older, 35mm model (SRT 202)and I want to purchase a digital, SLR, to be able to take bird/flower nature pictures (and of grand kids playing sports). I have the telescopic lens but was told it won't work with the newer cameras. ( I inherited camera and lens).


A: It won't work straight-out on a Nikon body.

There exist adapters to convert between different mounts, but in the case of Nikon's mount design it is possible to make converters from nikon lenses to other maker's bodies, but vice-versa is not practical (you lose the ability to focus at infinity). In addition you lose most if not all automation on the lens (autofocus, in some cases exposure metering and aperture actuation).
