35mm Camera?

Q: I have a 35mm SLR camera, i have just had my first film back and it was blank, any ideas what could be up? Pleaseeee someone help me :(

A: my only guess is you took the film out while u had it

On my camera if you take 3 photos to many it overwrites the Film

Could be a number of things, inc shutter failure without more detail its hard to say. Either get it checked by a professional repair shop or sell it & buy a digi.

It depends on what condition the blank pictures were. If it was very dark like like you photographed black velvet in a lightless room, then the film was never exposed. This can happen if the film was not properly loaded onto the take up reel when you put the film in. This will also occur if you are using a point and shoot with the lens cap on. Thinking of buying a 35mm camera from a pawn shop, any way to keep from driving all over town?

We have many many pawn shops here and I do not want to drive around to all of them looking for a 35mm camera. Any suggestions? Do they have websites usually? What are some of the problems with buying a used 35mm camera, the fully manual film type, I should be on the lookout for? Do pawn shops usually guarantee their stuff to work?


A: Pawn shops can be hit or miss. They won't guarantee their items to work...and they probably won't have someone who knows enough about 35mm cameras working there.

I'd go to a camera shop that sells used equipment. 35mm stuff is pretty cheap now. And from a camera shop, it's guaranteed that it'll work. Plus, they'll be able to help you find a camera that works for you, including the lenses.

What type of 35mm camera should I use for my college photography class?

Well, on the course description, they said we had to provide our own 35mm camera. Do you guys think it has to be one of the those more expensive SLR ones? Or can it be the normal film ones (ones that you can easily buy under 50)? Class hasn't started yet, but I'm afraid because if it's the SLR ones, I don't think I'm able to afford it. And plus, I'm only taking this class for fun so I don't necessarily want to spend too much money on it (besides the film and etc.)....


A: What you need is a manual camera, something like the Pentax K1000, OM1, OM2 from Olympus, any Nikon or Canon that fits the manuals category.

You can use a 28 or 35mm wide angle, a 50mm standard lense, and anywhere from a 105-135mm for portraits. You can, if you want, cover these ranges with two zooms, a 28 or 35-70mm and a 70-210mm.

The camera, and be sure that you get one that is working. You can get that from www.keh.com that has a warranty to it....

What is a good 35mm camera to start of with?

Hey Y!A I am about to take my first Intro to Photography class and I need an analog 35mm camera. I was wondering what is a good, reliable, camera to start off with? Brand would be helpful but specific camera would be even better.
Yes it cannot be digital because we will be practicing darkroom experience.


A: The Pentax K1000 is considered the best student camera ever. 100% manual, it only needs a battery for the light meter. Lenses for it can be used on the Pentax DSLR line with limitations. You should be able to find one wth a 50mm f1.7 lens for under $100.00. Make sure to get the Owner's Manual.

The Canon FTb is another good choice but since it uses the old Canon FD lens mount you can't use lenses for it on a Canon DSLR unless you buy an adapter. When Canon introduced...
