I want to buy a camcorder, but would rather buy a digital which is less expensive but more recording time and options for money. How do I know if my computer is capable of burning the downloaded info on to a DVD? I do have a dvd/cd-r drive. If not I may just have to purchase a DVD camcorder.
A: In order to download video, you need a firewire connection. You need a firewire card (ieee 1394) installed in your computer and a firewire cord (ieee 1394) to connect your camera to your PC. Then you need a DVD-RW burner. If your DVD drive says DVD-ROM, it is not a burner. If you want to edit, you need some editing software, your burner and your camera usualy comes with some software.

Well I would take the Camcorder
Probably depends on what the main reason you will be using it will be. If you will be mainly taking still pictures and a video here and there, then you should get the digital camera and vice versa. Although the camcorders are getting smaller, the decent ones aren't going to be near as small as an awesome digital camera.
