What's the purpose of the Flip Video... if you already have a digital camera?

Q: The Flip Video (2 GB version) says it has a 2x zoom. Can it zoom in while taking video?

How is a Flip Video camera better than a standard digital camera (that takes video)? The resolution seems to be the same..

Does anyone have any experience with the Flip Camera?

Why or why did you not get a Flip Video, in addition to your digital camera?

A: The resolution for the original Flip is probably the same, but it is created specifically for video, while your digital camera is not. This means on the fly auto-focus, real time adjustments to lighting conditions etc. If you're concerned about resolution, look into one of the higher end models that offer up to 720p resolution (Flip Mino is a great choice). They're also insanely easy to use and you don't need a cord (the USB plug just flips - hence the name - right out of the side...

im looking for a digital camcorder and came across the flip can anyone who has personally bought one tell me what its like? does it have good sound video quality? how about ease of use, easy of software? anything that you think is important to know before buying this product is it a good product? please help!!!!11


A: I think the flip is pretty good however it has a few flaws. The sound is ok but not great and you cant plug in an external mic. The built in memory is pretty decent and you can record for an hour but you cant just put in a new card and keep going when you fill it, you gotta go back to your computer and upload everything first. It is very easy to use, and it requires no software because its built into the camera itself. Even got a nifty upload to youtube feature built in.

Well my sister is giving me hers for $50 so i'm just wondering is it worth it??

Anyway, it all depends on whether it's the Flip Mino HD, the Flip Mino, the Flip Ultra or the Flip Video.
If it's only the Flip Video...then, it's probably not worth it. Offer her less, regardless...
