i'm about to get Zildjian cymbals, but then there are two types of cymbals. what are the differences and which one is better for a thrash metal drummer?

A: -sheet bronze is the low grade, due to the mass produced sheet of metal then cut into usable lengths
-cast bronze is a process leading to the correctly sized cymbal and thus wields a better cultured piece of metal for sound
stick with zildjian a series or better (a custom, k series, k custom, z custom)
if you have no money, splash and effect cymbals can be ZHT and still good.

I got a drum set for Christmas and I love it. It's a five piece drum set with a crash and a high-hat cymbal. But I want to buy more cymbals to sound better. I want to know the difference between splash and ride cymbals. Or do I need to take my time and learn the basic before I get ahead of myself? Take in mind I am a beginner. Thanks!

A: a splash cymbal is a small cymbal between 5 and 13 inches that you hit like a crash cymbal and it sounds like a splash in water a ride cymbal is a cymbal between 18 and 30 inches that you hit on top and on the bell to get a ping sound you should get a 20 inch ride to put on the right side of your kit behind the floor tom if you want to get a splash thats fine but if you want to go big thats cool also ive only been playing for a few months but i already have a splash hi-hats 3 crash cymbals...

I'm looking for some heavier cymbals. I like zildjian and i am partial to them, but any brand and model i can look into would be appreciated.

A: hey man, cymbals are key for drumming obviouslly the first thing i'm going to say is do't let price be an issue. i know there are a lot of expensive cymbals out there but if you let price be an issue you're going to settle for cymbals that aren't what you want/ need. Second i'm going to suggest dark cymbals. for metal you're goign to want something that's dark but cuts through with a lot of power I'd stronglly suggest the SabianHHX series, good ones being HHX...

Checked the cymbal out in a musical context with an Orion kick,snare and some Zildjian New Beat hats.
Man-oh-man, that ride needs to be heard to be believed.
Nice warm wash,great dry stick definition and a thoroughly unique sound thanks to the four holes.
I played shit I HAVE NEVER played before. That cymbal seems to bring out a lot of positive energy and creativity(in me).

It is of course a different matter,that my wallet has received an immense dent!!!
