it really depends on ur own personal opinion. not ur friends, no matter how much experience he or she has. I personally love Martin acoustics because they are very high quality and have a great tone. on the other hand i never really liked ovations although they are good guitars i just do not like the style. you need to go to ur local music store and sit down with a few different guitars and just try them for urself. go with ur own choice and you will not be dissappointed.

Get an ovation. Get it to a music store and get it set up right. With any guitar, you should get a professional to juice it up. It'll only cost about $20. I play a Celebrity too, and it's pretty great, unless you want to be able to be more percussive with your guitar. I recommend either a taylor or a Takamine. They're more versatile than martins.

I use Ovations for performing (I have a 12 string and a six-string) and for me they're the best electro-acoustics in the world. The curved back does make them more difficult to play sitting down, though!

I also have a Little Martin travel guitar with built in electrics, and that's pretty awesome too. Go to a music shop, and try out as many electro-acoustics as are in your price range, and see which one sounds and plays the way you want.
If you don't have an...
