Remove subtitles from a Coby DVD-815 home theater receiver/dvd player?

Q: I have a Coby DVD-815 receiver/dvd player home theater system.It was free,but I didnt get the remote with it.Everytime I play a store bought DVD,I get those subtitles on the screen.I want these removed.Is there any way to reset the system defaults or remove the subtitles without the remote control?Also,I have universal remotes,but they wont work with Coby.I cant accses the menu without the original remote,so is there any way to remove subtitles?Thanks.

Why isnt my "COBY DVD-937 5.1-Channel Home Theater System" turning on anymore?

I have a COBY DVD-937 5.1-Channel Home Theater System it wont turn on anymore. A few days ago it decided to turn off on its own so we turned it off and back on, it worked fine afterwards. I went to use it the next day and nothing works, and YES it was plugged in and set up according to the book. I've looked inside it to make sure all the wires were snug. My only assumption would be the fuse is blown but i want to make sure its nothing else before i go and aimlessly spend more money on...


A: There's a battery pack for what? I don't understand that. But as for not turning on, it's either a blown fuse, the power supply is broken, or the power switch is bad. Not much you can do without tearing it apart. Try contacting the company, but sorry to say, Coby is known for ignoring their customers.

My home theater speakers pick up the radio in the background, are there ways of preventing this?

When the speakers are on, you can hear the radio, but its not connected to any radio reciever, just the DVD player and the subwoofer, this is a Coby home theater system, with dvd player, a sub and two speakers. It works well, just has the radio background which is annoying. I've looked for answers but cannot find anything exactly with what I need. Can anybody help me?

A: Not sure i can help but here goes. There should be red/white socket at rear of tv[ audio] + same on home theater equip'.+ some systems connect via scart lead for sound and picture,so you have less leads, all differ but try the scart option first, as this is the easiest method.
