Hooking up an xbox to a JVC DVD home theater system?

Q: I have a JVC DVD Digital TH-M303 Home Theater system. The connections on my TV are old and produce a highly distorted xbox picture. I want to hook it up to the dvd system because the DVD picture quality on the screen is excellent, I just don't know where to plug in the cables in the back of the DVD unit. Can anyone help me?

A: The two previous answers sound pretty good, but let me add my 2 cents. If you are having a problem getting it to work, then you will have to change the input on the DVD player. For example, I have a DVD recorder that has mulptiple inputs (cable, s video and even red/white/yellow input on the front).

Remember this, just because your DVD looks good on the TV doesn't mean that your xbox will look as good because your audio and video is only as strong as your weakest...

see the red, white and yellow plug ins? they go into the red, white, and yellow plug ins on the dvd system.

Well, plug in the RCA (Yellow, White, Red) cables into the Video Input on your HTS(Home Theater System). If you have more than one, plug into any one of them, and make sure to have it on that input to have it work.

Home theater DVD player error message?

I have a JVC home theater system, model XV-THA25. When I power it up, the word PROTECTION comes up on the display and then it shuts itself off. Anybody know the fix?


A: Home theater systems throw up this error under one of two possible conditions: overheating or short circuit. If you're seeing this as soon as you turn on the unit, it can't be overheating. So check all your cables and connections for short circuits.

New Plasma with older Dvd Home Theater System, blue/yellow picture - no green or red? Is it user error?

Good Morning all,
I just got a new Panasonic Plasma - 1080 resolution and have an older (5years) JVC Home Theater that is hooked up with the Red, Blue, Green cable. Have the cable running into a DVR (RCA) that runs into the DVD Player that runs into the TV. The picture on the DVR is good, even the recorded stuff - the picture on the TV is phenomenal (even picked up more channels!) - the picture on the DVD is ok - but, only vivid blues and yellow - no green or red. Tried to adjust...


A: I agree with the other posters. Sounds like you have plugged component video cables into a composite audio/video connection. Consult your manual, or if necessary, your salesperson for help in getting the hookup right.

Playing Sound from Olevia 37 Inch flat screen through HDMI into JVC Home Theater.?

I have a Olevia 37 Inch Flat screen, and JVC TH-D5 Home theater. Sound plays great through IPOD, DVD, and FM/AM radio. How do I set up sound coming from my normal TV Channels into the JVC Stereo. Also how would I have sound from my PS3 go through stereo as well?
