NASCAR radio scanner?

Q: Last year I listened to the NASCAR.com scanner for free. Now they want me to pay for it. Is there any other website I can listen to the 24's radio? Thanks

A: Its free for some races. But its only like 29.95 for the entire season or 2.95 a month something like that. You can do it for 14 days for free but then you have to cancel it or they will charge your credit or debit card at the end of 14 days.. Most of my friends all get the scanner for a yr, thats why when we have a race party at my place we have like 6 or 7 drivers on scanners when they bring their laptops over. I don't think $29.95 ( or whatever it is) is that expensive.

Can't decide between Uniden BC92XLT or Radio Shack Pro 84 Nascar Race Scanner....?

Just wondering what your thoughts are on either model and try to look at pros and cons. The Radio Shack model has computer software to program in codes which is cool but I am wondering if the volume or signal strength of the uniden is better. Right now on ebay the Radio Shack scanner with one headset is $65 shipped. The uniden is $110 shipped but comes with an additional headset, splitter, ac adaptor and belt clip. Whach is the better purchase in your opinion becasue I only want to buy it...


A: I got the pro 84 a while back from Radio Shack for $50 shipped with the headphones/belt clip and love it.

I also own the Pro 97 ($175+ without headphones) and Digital Pro 96 and like stated above, the alpha tags come in handy but I like the smaller size of the pro 84 for taking to races.

The pro 84 and Uniden BC92XLT are basically the exact same scanner, so you would be paying for the extras that come with uniden like the ac adapter, slitter etc. Your going to...

need help with purchasing a scanner or radio for nascar races?

i am interested in purchasing a scanner to listen to the driver/crew chief/.spotter communication during the races i go to each year. i have two questions:1) i would like to hear my driver but would also like to hear full race commentary (playby play). do i need a radio to tune into local radio station or can i get that on the scanner too? also 2) i am interested in the UNIDEN BEARCAT BC92XLT. anyone have any info on it? i usually go to dover/ pocono and a couple other. thanks


A: Oh yeah, drivers are really funny with the crew, use some strange language at times..... It's actually interesting to hear the actual handling of the safety/cleanup crews during cautions.... that's more complicated than one would think.

Oh yea, get a "stubby" antenna unless you want to be constantly gouged by that long one.

I have a Radio Shack Pro-99 with the NASCAR frequencies but frequencies and car #s have changed. How do I update this with the latest information?
www.nascar.com? i don't see anything about scanner frequencies.
