Panasonic dvd home theater Remote question?

Q: I have a panasonic home theater dvd player. I lost the remote and i wanted to get a universal remote ,but my question is ,If i get a universal Remote will i be able to change the Surround settings? i guess i can only change it with the remote.
I bought it 4 years ago at Best buy

A: firstly, when did you buy it?

if it was recent, you might get another one, or else you might be able to buy one seperatley.

But, i prefer not to use a universal remote if your home theater remote was for the dvd player-amplifier set. there are a lot of special keys on the panasonic remote for certain functions .

i have a pioneer 5.1 hi-fi set . it has a "shift" button. i need it for changing each speakers volume seperatley. so ur remote...

what is the code for a panasonic dvd home theater system for a phillips remote?

i bought it open box without the remote. i looked in the remote booklet and got the volume to change but i cant control the dvd player
now i programmed it as a cd player and the system says "remote 1"

Clicking noise when playing DVD on Panasonic DVD Home Theater system?

I just bought a Panasonic DVD Home Theatre system SC-PT770 HT740 and am pleased so far....the only issue is a clicking noise...every 8 seconds or so...and only while playing DVD's (no noise when watching TV). Any ideas on what this could be would be appreciated...

I should add that the clicking noise is coming from the speakers.. but only when playing a DVD...

The model # is: SA-HT940
The machine operates within normal parameters with one exception; neither of the two cooling fans work.
I have ceased using the machine since this problem began although it did work fine for a time before the discovery was made.
I want to know if there are any suggestions other than seeking a repairman as there are none in the area. I am also somewhat reluctant to simply order new fans unless all other options have been exhausted so that I...


A: Run a hot wire directly to each fan from a dc power supply or "wall wart" to test if the fans will work with proper power. If not,replace the fans. If they do work,the circuit that powers them is not getting warm enough to warrant use or is defective. The wall wart use seems a nice workaround if you don't want to pay/wait for repairs.
