The instruction manual says that when you turn off the stereo (standby), the clock is displayed for a few seconds and then it will disappear. The display will be blank. Why are new stereo systems being made this way? On the old stereo systems from 5 to 10 years ago, the clock always remained visible on the LED display when turned off. The answer to your question: WHY manufacturers have eliminated the “ALWAYS ON” displays, is because they are striving to MINIMIZE the standby electric power consumption, of their equipment.
