Can i replace my Philips Home theater dvd player with a blue ray player but keep the same speakers?

Q: HERE are some specs it is Philips HTS3410D 700 Watt DVD Home Theater System
if i can do this please give examples of Blue ray players i can buy THANKS!

A: The only thing that really matters is whether you have an available digital audio input (sounds like you do). If you have a suitable input you can connect the audio out of the Blu-ray player to the input of the HT receiver and connect the HDMI Blu-ray video output direct to an HDTV. Without an HDMI input you won't benefit from the advanced audio formats (but don't have the decoders for them anyway).

BUT note that you must have an HDTV to benefit.

we are in the philippines. my philips home theater can not play dvd disk bought in the u.s.a.. Is there some kind of adjustment so that the disk will be played in dvd players sold in our region?

Good Points
Attractive looking, small enough to keep your home entertainment package looking tidy.
Good sound from the speakers, the sub woofer is impressive.
Very easy to set up.

Bad Points
Lack of functionality, opening and closing the disc drive is too time consuming.

Speaker cable is not particular long, or good quality.
