I need help on this new home theater system from Onkyo model "HTS75" and my Samsung DLP TV?

Q: i just bought this Home Theater system Onkyo model "HTS75 " ..this is a combination of Onyko and Polk Audio speaker..and Samsung TV DLP model " HL61A650" ..ok..here is mine problems:

1- is anyone have experiences or any idea rating is this Onkyo is a good home theater system?

2- The system come with 1 HDMI cable and i used it to connect the DVD player with the Onkyo receiver ..ok, the problem is i have NO VIDEO NIETHER AUDIO OUT from the...

A: Go to input mode on receiver to set HDMI if you want the best, same thing with DVD player ( or you can set auto mode for both ).You can run HDMI from receiver to TV, optical digital ( or coaxial ) cable from DVD to receiver to get surrond sound. If you do this method , set auto mode or optical in for both.

By your description, it sounds as if you just need an additional cable to connect from the DVD (output) to the TV.

Once you have all your connections set up, I'm sure you'll be pleased with the quality of your system.

Since you receiver is connected to you dvd player how do you transfer your vide from receiver to your TV. Do you have a cable from video output on receiver to TV video in?

If you have a video cable from your receiver to TV, see if receiver has a setting to change to DVD mode from TV mode.

Need Home Theater help... which wires?!?

I have never had a home theater system in my life, so I dont know anything about this. Which speaker wire should I get?

I went to the store, and they had several kinds. I saw regular speaker wire, HD speaker wire, and Monster Cable speaker wire.

Is there a real difference in these? Which one...


A: I really want to slap the crap out of salespeople who try to sell the most expensive cables because you "need" it. You don't need it. Same for those stupid gold-plated connectors that cost more. Yes, it's true they don't corrode, but regular connectors don't corrode enough to make any difference.
