Which best suitable amplifier for Sony DVD Home Theater system speakres?

Q: I have a Sony DVD Home Theater.But its Motherboard caught rust due to humidity and it is beyond repairs now. But i have 5 in 1 speakers of the same system which are in very good condition. So, i am planning to buy a normal DVD player and seperately an amplifier so that i can use those speakers. Please advice. thanks and regards

Sony DVD Home Theater System Sound Cuts Out?

Hi, I have a Sony DAV-DX150 home theater system (have had it for about 2 years) and for the last few months, when I leave the system on for several hours (typically overnight) the sound cuts out. The only way to get it back is to change the found function (i.e. change from DVD to radio and back) or to turn the power off and back on. Has anyone else had this problem or know how to go about fixing it?

A: Could it be a heating issue? If you are not using you should shut it off. My sony receiver does not have a fan but it is in an area that it can dissipate heat. Also try cleaning it out, a collection of dust can create heat issues as well.

How can I connect my PS3 to my Sony DVD home theater system(HDMI) with an optical audio cable and an hdmi?

However the DVD home theater has an HDMI entry as well as my tv and the tv has an audio optical entry but not in the home theater. I am already using the HDMI entry in the ps3 for display settings. It is connected to my 46" Sony LCD HDTV to give me full 1080p picture. However the Geek squad team recommended me the audio optical cable and the hdmi cable to connect the ps3 to audio. But i cant seem to work it....HELP!!


A: I'm sure what they meant was run the HDMI (to the tv) for video and the optical (to the stereo) for audio.

I have a Bravia Sony DVD home theater system and just got it and havn't even set it up yet and was wondering if you can hook it up to a HDTV, or TV in general?
Sorry about the confusion for the title, I meant can you use the surround sound while watching a regular TV program.
