Does anyone know where i can read about it online or find out how to program the channels/bands needed for my location? Any help is appreciated!

i brought a bc246t today, just wondering what the knob below volume control do ? it is written "sql" and dont have any idea what id does. can someone plz tell me ?

And it seems very complicated to scan, after a full "custom" scan, i only recieve a few channels, eventhough I live in new york city, where i think have lots of radio communications... any tips will be helpfull.

A: It's not complicated at all, really. It just takes some getting to know your equipment. Squelch gets rid of the snow and lets you just hear talk. Turn it just far enough so the snow stops, if you turn it all the way up you may not get more distant communications. NYC has the most radio communications in the country, it should be easy to zero in on a lot of good stuff. I'd search online (google,yahoo) for NYC Frequencies, it should be easy to find them, and then program them into your...

I have bought a Uniden Radio Scanner but cant manage to get any of the frequencies to work. Can anyone tell me how you do this?
