Which would be a good home theater speaker system not that expensive for a 7.1 Yamaha receiver, 100 wattsx7?

A: Bose has the absolute worst sounding sub/satellite systems on the market & Bose is extremely over priced. Their sub's not even a sub, because it doesn't go low enough & goes too high to be classified as a subwoofer. Subwoofers play the low notes that aren't directional. Bose bass module plays notes that are high enough to be directional, so the voices in your movies sound like they are coming from where you have your bass module placed, instead of sounding like it's coming...

Tweeter has the Bose Acoustimass 5 on sale for $399.00, marked down from $599.00 I don't think you can beat the Bose for home theater. Yamaha also has a very good set for the same price if you want your components to match. The sound from the Bose will be much better though.

If you don't want to spend that much, I would check the clearance shelves at Circuit City, Best Buy, Tweeter and Sam's Club. I got my bedroom speakers, a set of 5 Sony surround sound...

Keeping in mind that your system will only be as good as the weakest link, I would consider not getting too cheap with the speakers. You can start with a nice 5.1 system and then add the extra two speakers later. I also have 7.1 and have found little to nothing that is actually 7.1 yet....

I would go to the same place you got the receiver & get speakers that will be compatible for that amp. Unmatched systems are not a good plan. Make sure you get speakers that will handle more wattage than the amp can put out, then you won't blow them.

Air Surround Home Theater Speaker System?

I'm looking to buy surround sound for my home living room. I found a yamaha air surround home theater system. It has one center unit and 1 subwoofer. It claims that this will create surround sound just like a multiple speaker system. I don't want to mount to the walls, so it seems great, but will it really do the trick ?

My living room has 3 walls and one open section connecting the the kitchen.. will that cause the surround sound not to work as efficiently?

I bought a Klipsch Synergy Series Quintet III 5 - Piece Home Theater Speaker System w/ the Klipsch - 10" 420watt Powered Subwoofer with the Yamaha - 500 5.1 Ch. A/V Home Theater Receiver from best buy last year. The satellites are good but wanted to upgrade to better speakers for the front and center keeping the satellites for surround sound. So i bought the Klipsch Synergy Slx yesteday.That eliminates the front speakers. So all need now is a good center speaker should i just stay with...


A: Defiantly stay with the same make speaker. If viewing allows take a look at another SLX, as these speakers are designed for left, center and right channels, if not then the RC-62 would fit in nicely. Don't forget to re-calibrate the speakers after you have run them in a bit.

I have an Acer Aspire9503EWSMI laptop computer and while the speakers are okay, I would like to listen to online radio stations, saved music and other audio from my computer through my yamaha home theater system. What cord do I need to accomplish this?
