What are the best headphones for the Cowon iAudio 6 mp3 player?

Written by freemana in Tuesday, June 19, 2007 under Music & Music Players

Q: I just bought a second hand Cowon iAudio 6 mp3 player on ebay missing the headphones only.
Will a standard set of headphones work or do I need a different size and who makes the best headphones for this player?
Thanks

A: Try Bose. The sound on it is powerful, as they advertise. It blocks out distractions too. ;-).

Best Buy has it for $150, I think.

can the cowon iAudio 7 play music into my car's stereo via its FM tuner?

COWON iAudio 7 + AKG K518DJ + SoundMAGIC PL11

I'm looking for an inexpensive MP3 player that can play music into my car's stereo. I don't have a cassette tape player so the cassette tape connection wont work. I really like the cowon iAudio 7, but then I realized that FM tuner probably just means it receives radio only. Is that how it works or can it transmit as well?

What music subscription services can I use with a Cowon iaudio T3 player?

COWON iAudio 7 + AKG K518DJ

I have checked with itunes and Rhapsody and they say my mp3 player is not compatible. What services are?
Thanks !

A: Basically, when you buy music from iTunes, it comes with a copyright protection called DRM. These DRM-protected songs are locked so that they only work with Apple MP3 players. That means that if you bought a Microsoft Zune, you cannot use iTunes music.

So, what is the solution? You have to burn a CD. When you do this, the DRM is removed (because the music is converted to a non-DRM-compatible media). After you burn the CD, you can rip it to your PC as an MP3 file which no longer...

SanDisk Sansa e260 or the Cowon iAudio 6?

Cowon iAudio F1 charging

Many of you have probably heard of the SanDisk Sansa e260, while the Cowon iAudio 6 still remains in the dark. I have to make a decision between the two and I don't know what to choose. I doubt many people have the Cowon iAudio 6, but if you do, tell me how you like it, and the same goes for the SanDisk Sansa e260. I've read some reviews, and the only quality about the Cowon iAudio 6 that is better is line-in recording. Could someone also tell me what this is? And tell me which one is...

A: personally i like the SanDisk e260 better because it has a 1.8 display screen as compared to 1.3 that the cowon has. Also Sandisk has 4 gb of flash memory as compared to cowon has 4 gb of hard disk space, flash memory always runs a lot faster than hard drive.

The in-line recording that cowon has is a pretty good function. you can record any audio that has audio outputs (like for headphone jacks) directly into your player. So you can pretty much transfer music/audio records from...

Cowon iAudio X5 Compact Flash Mod

Source: Anything But iPod

cowon-x5-cf-mod.jpg

Since my first gen Rockboxed Sansa Clip died, I ordered an IDE to CF adapter for my X5L after I read the Rockbox CF Mod Wiki page.

Installation was pretty straightforward, I only had to cut/saw the plastic bit off one side of the adapter's IDE connector to fit. I also had to shorten the master/slave jumper so it doesn't poke the PCB and battery, use a slimmer jumper bridge, and electrical tape on the backside (see red dots in the photos).

Speed with a 300x Lexar CF is blazing, bootup is almost instantly. Too bad there's no affordable 300x 32GB card available, so I have to see which 16 or 32Gb card is fast enough to be useful in the X5. I'm leaning towards a Kingston Elite Pro 133x (should be faster than 133x in reality), or a Hama HighSpeed Pro (should have similar speeds as the twice as expensive SanDisk Extreme III). On another note, the X5 is now also quite a bit lighter than with the 1.8" HDD inside.
