A: you can buy a cord at best buy/circuit city....i'm blanking on the type of the cord...but basically it plugs into your stereo and then into where you plug your ear phones on your player....you use the AUX setting on your stereo and it plays out through your speakers....a salesperson at the store should know what you are looking for

I've gotten no response in the Music Player area, so I thought I'd ask the question here.

I've started using my Palm TE as an mp3 player. I'm reasonably content with it, but I need more storage. I've been thinking of a 1gig SD card to replace my 128meg card. That'll cost between $30 - $50, I think, if I shop around.

But I've been wondering if a true mp3 player in that price range wouldn't be a better buy. True, it won't have...

A: buying a higher capacity SD card is a better option if you are content with the music that your palm delivers. However a person who would prefer music quality (like me) should rather buy a mp3 instead. The sound quality which players like, iriver, ipod deliver leave you stunned.

I noticed that you have to purchase Pocket tunes(the smartphones default mp3 player), are there any alternative ones I can download for it?

A: I have been using Palm Treo for a few years. For my first one, Treo 600, I had to buy PTunes; but for 680 that I got recently from Verizon, I didn't have to.

Since Palm Pre mania is just gearing up, you may not know a lot about this new smartphone. What can the Palm Pre do? What applications can you download with it? Is it better than the iPhone? While we can’t answer all of these questions, we’re hoping this short guide will give you better understanding of Palm’s new phone and what it could mean for the mobile market and social media.

Palm Pre: the basics

If you haven’t been following Palm Pre news, here’s the basic gist: it’s a smartphone with a lot of features similar to the iPhone. The phone has most of the standard functionality you’d expect in an iPhone competitor: camera, MP3 player, Wi-Fi, GPS, Internet browsing, 8 GB of storage, accelerometer, and Bluetooth functionality. However, here are some of the features that have people really buzzing:

3.1 inch capacitive touchscreen: The touchscreen display may be smaller than the iPhone’s 3.5 display, but it provides a lot of the same functionality. The key is that a lot of the gestures used on the iPhone, like pinching to zoom out, are available on the Pre. It also dims and ignores touch when placed next to the face, like the iPhone.

Physical keyboard: While a lot of people are happy with the touchscreen keyboard of the iPhone, others like the feel of actual keys in their hands. The Palm Pre has a slide-out keyboard that is preferred by some individuals.
