How many Electric Bass guitars are there across the entire globe. simple question really.. thank for any info!
ie, how many electric bass guitars, nothing else, not stand up, no stick tub bass, no bass pedals, just pure electric bass guitars. 4 string, 5 string, or 6. would the number be close to 1 million or maybe 5 million?

What are some good brand names for bass guitars? and will an electric guitar amp work for a bass guitar?

A: I've been a bass player since i was a kid and I've played many different types of music. Warwick is the best all-around bass value for a pro-level bass ($1000-1200 range). I have a Warwick Corvette (active pickups) and I love it. But that's kinda expensive for beginner/intermediate players, so I'd say to just play as many different basses as you can and don't be afraid of used equipment as long as the electronics are in good condition and the neck isn't warped....

A: One thing to keep in mind when purchasing your first bass guitar, or any guitar for that matter is how easy it is to play, and also your handsize. A guitar that does not feel comfortable to you is one you wont want to practice on and learn. My suggestion would be to take someone with you who has played for quite sometime, and have them help you purchase it. Keep in mind that while a salesman might make a suggestion as to what to buy, it might not be in your best interest. Alot of them...
