Can I replace the built in mic to a micro cassette recorder with something larger for increased record distanc

Q: Panasonic Microcassette Recorder RN-302 Battery operated 3 V. Replace the two wire very small built in mic with a mic jack or a small speaker to serve as a mike? I'd like to extend recording distance to more than a foot or two. If it's feasible I can dig up the schematics. [I hope] THANKS.

A: Buy a new one, it's cheaper.

well ..u can put another microphone....but it probably won't fix anything....to increase the distance you need a small preamp

It is a Panasonic RN-402 voice activated. I puchased it in l995, but have used it very little. The left "spindle" won't turn to rewind tape. Thanks.


A: Forget about it , go digital. Much more convenient.: Smaller, clearer sound, no tapes which are harder to find, and more recording space.
