Satellite radio?

Q: I am about to buy Satellite radio and I was trying to decide between XM and Sirus I like Baseball and most other sports. Any suggestions as to which one is better it would be appreciated.Thanks.

A: I use Sirius; I think both services are about the same, with each having some exclusive content. If the NFL or Howard Stern is attractive to you, Sirius is the way to go since those are only in Sirius. I don't know much about XM and what their exclusive content is. I suspect on the music side they probably have similar content. I think pricing is similar, too.

Though both service are okay...Sirius seems to be a better provider and better content choices ...definitely have the satellite links to back them up.

Your decision will also depend on how you plan on listening to your radio. At the moment, XM has better portable players (Sirius portable players must be docked in order to listen to live radio) but I'm sure that Sirius will catch up at some point. More important is the difference in the channel line-up's. Sirius has Howard Stern, Martha Stewart, and the NFL. XM has Major League Baseball.

Well if its baseball hands down XM. I've had it since 2003 and cant live without it! Chrome baby! 83 where all the beautiful people go! Its the disco channel.

The factory installed radio is not satellite radio ready?
Can i do it myself, dealer is asking for 1K.

Any help ?


A: Do you have the factory navigation system in your Highlander? Do you want the satellite radio to be fully integrated with this display and your other dashboard audio buttons?

If so, you can purchase the parts kit from your favorite Toyota parts source and install it yourself.

AirTran and satellite radio can you listen during takeoff?

For those of you that have flown AirTran before, I see they have built in XM Satellite radio for each seat, does anyone know if you can listen to it during takeoff, or is it after, just like the electronics? I'm flying for the first time and scared to death, and would like some music to keep my mind off of the actual taking off part, cause I know that will be scary for me.


A: You can listen to it before takeoff, during takeoff, and also while you're in the air. The flight attendant will announce over the loud speaker as well as its linked to the receiver on each seat's armrest but it hurts my ears when you listen to the flight attendant through the XM Radio as you can't change the volume of the flight attendant's voice, only the station you are listening to.

Looks the the boss started blocking my XM satellite radio at work. How would I record a stream on my home computer, and then send it to my office email and listen to it the next day? It would have to be like a 5 hour recording.

In a classic case of "buy the rumor, sell the news," Sirius XM Radio (SIRI) has seen its stock fall 95 percent since Howard Stern's first satellite radio show. Stern, who reportedly received $500 million over 5 years to join Sirius in late 2005, helped boost subscribers when he joined. His presence hasn't helped the company boost its stock price.

And neither have car sales. With automakers Chrysler and General Motors (GM) mired in bankruptcy proceedings, Sirius finds itself drifting toward failure. Car sales in the U.S. fell 34 percent in April, according to industry research firm Autodata, and Sirius XM has been feeling the impact as fewer vehicles with satellite radios are being sold.
