Sony Boombox
Q: I have seen that 40 db is a whisper and 80 traffic and such but how does this equation translate into something tangible like this? Please help
Oh and the system is a 20 Watt RMS boombox made by Sony of the Xplod series-the new CFD-G 700CP model if that helps
A: dB or decibels is a logarithmic scale for measurement of sound or radio waves. Sound is measured in dBA i.e. acoustic decibels. The key numbers to know are 3dB and 10dB. Basically 3dB means double so if you let off a firecracker then let off 2 firecrackers together the two would be twice as loud as the one or 3dB louder. 10dB is 10 times louder, 20dB is 100 times louder and 30dB is 1000 times louder.

Any information would be useful...I'd also like a remote if this item had one
