I have a small Sony cd boombox that has a AM/FM radio, cassette deck and CD player. I also have a TIMEX CD/clock/radio. Both are having the same problem when I play a cd I can hear a "shadowy" or ghost-like radio station. It's not as loud as the cd music, but I can hear it distinctly and it drives me crazy. A: You probably have a local station that is getting into your circuits. It probably isn't your radio tuner that's doing it, since it you've tried changing the station and that doesn't get rid of it.
This can happen with inexpensive equipment that skimps on the shielding to keep external signals out of the electronics.
You should try slowly rotating the radios and see if you can find a position that gets rid of the problem.
